Vila Nova de Poiares is located east of Coimbra and an area of natural beauty, stunning mountains leading down to large valleys with rivers of crystal clear water. Vila Nova de Poiares has all the ameneties you would expect of a large town, shops, banks restaurants, cafe bars, medical centre, post office and supermarkets. An outdoor weekly farmers market selling fresh local produce is held every Monday. Sports and Activities Vila Nova de Poiares has a go-karting track which also hosts trials for the local car ralley's. There is a 6 lane 10 pin bowling alley with pool tables, bar and arcade machines.
