Image Source: www.wikipedia.pt Penela Castle Penela Castle is located in the town of Penela. The castle sits on a granite mountain and occupies an area of approximately half an hectare. The architecture is a mixture of Romanesque and International Gothic styles. Louçainha Praia Fluvial Louçainha Praia Fluvial is a natural fresh water river beach on the mountain road from Miranda do Corvo to Campelo. There are shaded free parking areas and lots of large open spaces for sunbathing. A cafe bar/restaurant onsite is open during the summer months for snacks, lunch and evening meals. A free bus service is also provided by the Câmara Municipal of Penela during the summer months. Penela is located centrally between Lisbon and Porto and close to the IC8 (East-West connection). Lisbon and Oporto airports are approximately 2 hours by car. |
