Mara's Cottage Studio was converted from buildings over 200 years old and is completely separate from the main house and benefits from its own on-suite shower and toilet.

Beautiful cool tiled floors coupled with an original ornate carved bed and confortable seating area complete with two armchairs and a log burner make this studio room the perfect rural retreat for couples.

Mara's Cottage Studio is a self catering studio which sleeps 2 people and has its own private entrance. The kitchenette area has a sink, two ring hob, fridge, kettle and toaster, an outside BBQ is also available.

Mara's Cottage Studio faces south, and looks out over a gorgeous lush and wooded valley and then far away to the hills beyond, not another house in sight. It truly is a rural retreat, yet you are within walking distance of a small café-bar in the local village of Figueira and Figueiró dos Vinhos is only 5km away.

Figueiró dos Vinhos is a small but beautiful market town, with shops, cafes and restaurants. There is a small cinema and indoor swimming pool, library and free internet cafe.

Mara's Cottage Studio also enjoys an above ground swimming pool surrounded by a tiled sun terrace. An outside kitchen close by makes it the perfect place to relax, soak up the sun and eat alfresco.

By arrangement we can offer vegetarian evening meals. All food at Bouça da Figueira is either home grown as naturally as possible or locally sourced. We believe in fresh natural produce, home cooked, with no additives or preservatives.

Our drinking water is from our well and even the red wine we drink is from our local village. We aim to provide good quality, tasty and healthy meals and at only 7 euros per person, good value too!

Mara's Cottage Studio is ideally situated if you are visiting Portugal to view property or as a base if you are renovating your own property.

Location

Mara's Cottae Studio is located centrally between Lisbon and Porto airports, both approximately 2 hours by car.

Castanheira de Pera

Castanheira de Pera is a 15 minute drive away and has shops, mini supermarkets, bar/cafes, restaurants, chemist, bakery, post office, three banks, medical centre and Praia das Rocas (open air swimming pool with wave machine).

Poço Corga Praia Fluvial

Poço Corga Praia Fluvial a natural fresh water river beach just 10 minutes drive away. With ample shaded areas to sit and open spots to sunbath and a restuarant/cafe bar within walking distance, Poço Corga is a great place for a day out.

Ana Aldeia de Aviz Praia Fluvial

Ana Aldeia de Aviz praia fluvial located just off the IC8 at Figueiró dos Vinhos.During the summer months various activities are held such as aquatic games, gimnastics, rafting and treasure hunts.

There is an onsite restaurant and cafe bar selling snacks and drinks.

Foz de Alge

Foz de Alge, a natural fresh water lake, used locally for fishing, swimming, sailing or just relaxing and soaking up the sun shine.

Take a picnic or eat out at two local restaurant/cafe bars.

From Figueiró dos Vinhos town center take Avenue Herois do Ultramar and follow the signs for Foz de Alge
