Lakeview Yurt Retreat is an eco haven in a wonderful lake front location just 10 minutes drive from Pedrógão Grande.

Lakeview Yurt is the perfect for those looking to fresh water fish, unwind and take in the beautiful surroundings. The only sounds you will hear are the birds in the trees and the fish splashing in the lake just meters from your door.

The spacious, light and airy yurt has all the comforts you will need and opens onto a raised decked terrace overlooking the lake.

Lakeview Yurt Retreat also has a natural waterfall which provides free crystal clear fresh mountain water

An inflatable 4 man dinghy is available for guests use.

Lakeview Yurt Retreat offers low impact fresh water fishing and vegetarian fullboard holidays to singles, couples, friends and families in a rare and privileged location on the banks of the Cabril lake in Pedrógão Grande.

The barragem Cabril was constructed in 1954 in the Rio Zêzere to form a lagoon area (albufeira) of 55km. The lagoon is bordered by pine and eucalyptus trees and the dam provides domestic electricity.

At Lakeview Yurt Retreat you can fish for carp, bream, barbel, bass, black bass and trout on your doorstep while appreciating the natural beauty of the area.

The water front is privately owned, the swim is exclusive to you during your stay.

Accommodation

The spacious guest accommodation has a double bed, shelves and clothes hanging space, a log burner, cosy seating and a small table with two chairs.

Double doors open onto a raised decked terrace with a table, chairs and sun umbrella overlooking the lake and woodland.

Traditional stone steps lead up one terrace to the bathroom with compost toilet and wash hand basin.

The bathroom has hardwood floors, a hand basin set in a wooden surround and a small window. The flat and level terrace in which it's located is lined with trees and fantatstic views across the lake.

On a separate terrace stone steps lead up to the shower room. The shower room is a wooden structure with a traditional solid stone floor and solar heated hot water.

Lakeview Yurt Retreat is completely off grid, solar electricity in the yurt provides power for mobile phone and laptop re-charging only.

Lakeview Yurt Retreat is located in a designated 'Eco Zone' therefore, bonfires and bbq's are strictly forbidden.

A fishing licence is required to fish in Portugal, the owners of Lakeview Yurt Retreat can purchase the appropriate licence in advance of your arrival (fishing licences are not included in the prices below).

Our full board vegetarian menu (no meat or fish) consists of:

 

Breakfast

A continental style breakfast which consists of cereals, bread, fruit, tea and juice.

Lunch

A light lunch using fresh organic seasonal ingredients; bread, cheese, homemade soup or salad.

Dinner

An international menu using fresh organic locally sourced seasonal ingredients; Thai, Indian, Morrocan and English dishes available.

The property is accessed via a long, loose stone path and a short flight of steps so is unsuitable for disabled or infirm guests.

Location

Lakeview Yurt Retreat is located 10 minutes drive from the IC8 and Pedrógão Grande town centre and 3 minutes from the small village Pesos Fundeiros.

In the local village there is a small cafe bar that also sells essential items and Pedrógão Grande has all the ameneties you would expect of a large town, banks, post office, mini mercados, cafe bars and restaurants and internet cafe. Pedrógão Grande also holds a weekly farmers market every Monday.

15 minutes drive west you will find the 'Largo Verde' lakeside restaurant on the banks of the Cabril lake.

Albufeira da Bouça is a 2nd lagoon down stream from the Barragem Cabril. The lagoon covers an area of 500 hectares and has an average depth of 20 metres. Albufeira da Bouça was constructed for the production of electricity but has attracted water sports such as fishing and canoeing.
