Casa Vermelho is a restored schist house offering self catering holidays in a tranquil location a short distance from both Castanheira de Pera and Pedrógão Grande.

Casa Vermelho has two double bedrooms, two bathrooms and can sleep up to 4 adults.

The accommodation is located in a small hamlet only 15 miniutes drive from both Castanheira de Pera and Pedrógão Grande town centres.

Fresh bread is delivered daily and walking distance to the village Moita where you will find a cafe bar and small grocery shop.

The gated entrance opens onto a spacious walled courtyard with a table and chairs beneath the shade of the grapevines. A wonderful place to eat alfresco.

The the left of the courtyard double glass doors lead into the guest annexe which has a large double bedroom and ensuite bathroom.

Stone setp lead up to the main accommodation. A glass door opens onto the kitchen dining room.

The kitchen has a traditional open fireplace, a gas oven and hob and fitted cupboards, all pots, pans an crockery are provided.

Off of the kitchen there is a spacious modern family bathroom with a large shower, toilet, bidet and handbasin.

A door from the dining area leads out to the raised sun terrace with sunbeds, umbrella and wonerful views of the valley and woodland.

The cosy lounge has a 3 seater sofa, an armchair and a tv. The 2nd double bedroom is located off of the lounge and has a double bed.

Walking distance from Casa Vermelho is the village Moita where you will find a cafe bar and small grocery store.

Praia das Rocas is a large open air swimming pool/leisure complex with wave machine fed by the warm waters of the Ribeira de Pera.

Located in the centre of Castanheira de Pera town, there is ample free parking spaces and a great day out, well worth a visit.

Coimbra, Portugal's 3rd city is a 40 minute drive and home to one of the worlds oldest universities, founded in 1290 by King Dinis. Coimbra sits on the edge of the River Mondego. In the old town narrow cobbled streets lead to hidden squares with cafe bars, shops and ancient churches.

The historic and pretty village Penela is just a few minutes drive away. Penela Castle sits on a granite mountain and occupies an area of approximately half an hectare. The architecture is a mixture of Romanesque and International Gothic styles.
