Casa Tranquil is a rustic little two bedroom cottage in a medium sized village just 20 minutes from the historic town Tomar. |

Casa Tranquil has two double bedrooms, each bedroom is traditionally furnished and has a double bed with beside tables and lamps and a double wardrobe. Both bedrooms are located at the front of the property had have external shutters. |

The rustic style kitchen has a full sized oven and hob, a fridge with an icebox, kettle, toaster and a microwave. All pots, pans, cutlery and crockery are provided. There is a small table with two chairs and the original large open fireplace has been converted to a cosy seating area. |

The open plan lounge has a sofa and two armchairs, a coffee table, terrestrial tv and a dvd player. The dining area has a table and four chairs, and a large stoage unit with a selection of books and dvd movies. |

The large family bathroom is fully tiled and has a bath with shower above, a toilet and hand basin. |

Casa Tranquil is located on a side road just a couple of minutes walk from the centre of the village. The cottage doesn't have a garden or outside seating area. |

Casa Tranquil is located approximately 1 ½ hours from Lisbon and 2 ½ hours from Porto. The village Chãos has a regular bus service into Tomar several times a day and the village hosts a weekly farmers market on a Sunday. |

Tomar Tomar is a historical town on the banks of the Nabão River and probably most famous for its 12th century Templar castle. The main street leads to the Gothic Church of São João Baptista and the main square is surrounded by 17th century buildings. 20 kilometers south of Tomar you will find the fairytale Templar Castle of Almourol, built in 1171 on a little island in the middle of the Tagus River. |

Fátima The famous town of Fátima is 35km from the Casa Tranquil. Fátima is famous for the shrine called the Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary, built to commemorate the events of 1917 when three peasant children claimed to have seen the "Virgin of the Rosary". |

Batalha Monastery The Batalha Monastery of Santa Maria da Vitória dates back to 1386 and the Portuguese architect Afonso Domnigues. Construction of the Monastery spanned 130 years from 1386 until circa 1517 and became the traditional burial place of kings that lasted until the reign of João II. |
