Aldeia do Talasnal known locally as the 'Lost Village' was abandoned in the 1950's. The village houses are now being reclaimed and transformed into holidays homes.

Aldeia do Talasnal is situated high on the hillside, the landscape retains its isolated character. The village cottages, both ruined and restored have stunning views of the valleys below.

Aldeia do Talasnal also has a restuarant and a bar, both open weekends only.

Aldeia do Talasnal is in the municipality of Lousã and approximately 28 Km's from the Univeristy City Coimbra.

Lousã is best known for the castle and natural surroundings, but also for it's mountain range and old small villages.

Casa Nova is a recently restored three story stone cottage full of character and charm.

The living area is located on the middle floor and has a wood burner, comfortable seating for relaxing, TV, DVD player and HiFi and a dining table with seating for four.

The moden fitten kitchen (located on the ground floor) has a two ring hob, microwave, fridge and freezer. All cutlery, crockery, pots and pans are provided.

The two bedrooms are located on the upper floor and each have a double bed, and a 3 draw chest.

The bathroom is located on the ground floor and has a bath with shower, a free standing wash hand basin with large mirror above and toilet.

The ground floor also has a spacious patio area with stunning views.

Talasnal is a small village close to the market town Lousã where you will find all amenities required for your holiday. Cinema, Doctors, Dentist, Supermarket and lots of cafe bars and restaurants. There is a market on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

Further afield visit the Knights Templer Castle of Tomar. The River Nabão runs through Tomar, a great place to relax in the park, cafe bar and restauarnts or, wonder through the cobbled streets of the old city.

Approximately 15 minutes north of Lousã is the hillside village of Penela over-looked by the ancient castle and slightly further north are the Conimbriga roman ruins.

Aldeia do Talasnal is an ideal holiday location for families and friends to enjoy relaxing countryside walks in the surrounding areas of natural beauty or, visit the river locations for breathtaking scenery and swimming.
