Casa do Alferes Curado is a beautifully restored former farmhouse in two hectares of terraced land offering bed and breakfast and self catering in a tranquil location with magnificent views.

Casa do Alferes Curado has three ensuite guest rooms, two rooms upstairs and one on the ground floor, each with their own private entrance.

The ground floor room has optional extras of a private guest lounge and fully equiped kitchen.

All rooms have two single beds, private bathrooms and a small table and chair. One guest room has space for an additional single bed if required.

For your comfort during the winter months all rooms are centrally heated.

Ensuite Bed & Breakfast Rooms

There are three spacious, light and airy ensuite bed and breakfast rooms, one on the ground floor and two on the first floor.

The ground floor guest room has its own private entrace and a set of french doors leading out to a large walled couryard. The room has twin beds with wall lamps above, large built in wardrobes and a table and chair.

The modern ensuite bathroom has a large walkin shower, toilet and two handbasins.

Bath towels are provided.

External steps lead up to two further guests rooms.

Ensuite B&B Room with Private Lounge

For an additional charge the ground floor guest room can be hired including a spacious lounge dining room.

The lounge has comfortable seating, a table and four chairs, a log burner and two sets of french doors each leading out to separate courtyards.

Self Catering Apartment

The ground floor apartment has its own private entrance. The spacious bedroom has twin beds with wall lamps above, large built in wardrobes and a table and chair.

The ensuite bathroom has two handbasins, a large walk-in shower and toilet.

The cosy lounge has comfortable seating, a table and four chairs and a log burner. Two sets of french doors each lead out to separate terrace courtyards.

The spacious fully equiped kitchen has an original bread oven, a woodburner, and island sink set in polished marble, a gas oven, dishwasher, microwave, washing machine and fridge freezer. There is a table and four chairs and storage cupboards. All pots, pans and crockery are provided.

Self Catering Cottage

It is also possible to rent the whole guesthouse on a self catering basis and can accommodate up to 6 people.

The ground floor consists of a spacious fully equiped kitchen with an original bread oven, a woodburner, and island sink set in polished marble, a gas oven, dishwasher, microwave, washing machine and fridge freezer.

A cosy living room, that also has a woodburner, a table and four chairs.

The ground floor bedroom has twin beds with bedside tables and lamps, a small table and chair and ensuite bathroom.

Upstairs (via external stone steps) there are two further spacious bedrooms each with twin beds, bedside tables and lamps, large fitted wardrobes, a small table and chair and a large modern bathroom with walk-in shower, toilet and hand basin. All rooms are centrally heated.

There is a private terrace with comfortable garden furniture, a bbq and a swimming pool.

Casa do Alferes Curado has a large walled courtyard where breakfast is served (weather permitting). During the winter months breakfast is served in the main house dining room.

The swimming pool is approximately 100 meters from the guest accommodation in a private and secluded location with established flower beds and wonderful woodland views.

There is a large terrace around the pool with sun beds, tables and chairs, a shower and a shaded seating area.

The ground floor accommodation is suitable for both able bodied and disabled guests.

A continental style breakfast which consists of bread, cheese, ham, eggs, juice, yoghurt, tea, coffee and home made jams.

Walking distance from Casa do Alferes Curado you will find the village Maçãs de Dona Maria.

Maçãs de Dona Maria is a large village which has two cafe bars, supermarket, bakery, chemist, a cashpoint machine and weekly farmers market held every Sunday. Less than a 5 minute drive you will find many wonderful restaurants.

A short drive west you will find the market town of Alvaiázere which has all the ameneties you would expect of a large town, shops, cafe bars, restaurants supermarkets and a weekly farmers market every Wednesday.

South of Maçãs de Dona Maria you will find Tomar, a historical town on the banks of the Nabão River and probably most famous for its 12th century Templar castle. The main street leads to the Gothic Church of São João Baptista and the main square is surrounded by 17th century buildings.

Heading east you will find the beautiful lakes and mountains of Ferreira do Zêzere. In the surroundings of Ferreira do Zêzere there is the medieval village named Dornes with fantastic views over the river.
