Casa da Pedra Nova is a beautifully restored house offering bed and breakfast in a tranquil location equidistant from Ansião and Alvaiázere.

Casa da Pedra Nova has one double guest room and can sleep up to 2 adults.

The accommodation is located in a small hamlet only 10 miniutes drive from Ansião town centre.

Fresh bread is delivered daily and a short walk to the village Gramatinha you will find a cafe bar and small grocery shop.

Casa da Pedra Nova offers continental or full english breakfast and optional evening bbq or 2 course meal.

For your comfort during the winter months Casa da Pedra Nova has central heating.

The guest room is located on the first floor and has a double bed, built in wardrobes, bedside tables, chest of drawers and a cosy armchair.

The separate private bathroom has a full sized bath with shower above, hand basin with mirror above, toilet and storage cabinet.

Breakfast consists of cereal, toast, tea and coffee, for a small charge a full english breakfast is also available. Breakfast can be served on the terrace overlooking the swimming pool and garden or in the breakfast room inside the house.

Location

A short walk from Casa da Pedra Nova is the village Gramatinha where you will find a cafe bar and small grocery store.

The town centre of Ansião is a 10 minute drive. Ansião has all the ameneties you would expect of a large town, supermarkets, cafe bars, restaurants, banks, medical centre, cinema and Saturday farmers market.

Ansião is located centrally between Lisbon and Porto and very close to the IC3 (North-South connection) and the IC8 (East-West connection). Lisbon and Oporto airports are approximately 1 hour 30 minutes by car.

A short drive south you will find the market town of Alvaiázere which has all the ameneties you would expect of a large town, shops, cafe bars, restaurants supermarkets and a weekly farmers market every Wednesday.

Pombal is a 30 minute drive west. Pombal is a small city and provides an excellent modern train service to the main Cities and to the North, South and East of Portugal. Pombal Castle sits on a hill surrounded by woodland overlooking the town below and was built originally in 1161 by Gualdim Pais, Grand Master of the Orders of Knights Templars.

Coimbra, Portugal's 3rd city is a 40 minute drive and home to one of the worlds oldest universities, founded in 1290 by King Dinis. Coimbra sits on the edge of the River Mondego. In the old town narrow cobbled streets lead to hidden squares with cafe bars, shops and ancient churches.

Less than an hours drive lies the coast of Figueira da Foz, ideal for surf and beach lovers. Figueira da Foz has lots of cafe bars, restuarants, shops and a casino.

The Roman ruins at Conimbriga are the largest roman ruins in Portugal and a national monument.
