Casa Branca is a recently renovated self catering or B&B family house, nestled right in the heart of beautiful Central Portugal. The house is situated in an unspoilt location that boasts a wide variety of wildlife and birds in the gardens and surrounding countryside.

Located in the small traditional village of Figueira, neatly situated in between Pedrógão Grande and Figueiró dos Vinhos, easily accessible and easy to find being only a 3 minute drive from the IC8.

Both Pedrógão Grande and Figueiró dos Vinhos have all the amenities you would expect of a normal town, a pharmacy, medical centre, bank, ATM machine, traditional grocery shops and excellent restaurants serving traditional local dishes.

There is also a large farmers market held every Saturday (Figueiró dos Vinhos) and Monday (Pedrógão Grande).

The beautiful riverside towns of Castanheira de Pera and Serta are both only 20 minutes drive and are ideal for river swimming and fishing. The University City of Coimbra is easily reached within an hour and boasts modern and traditional shopping, museums, cathedral and river excursions.

The quiet sandy and dune-backed beaches of the Silver Coast are also around a 1 hours drive west and the spectacular Serra da Estrela National Park 1 ½ hours east.

Casa Branca is situated right on the edge of the forest with stunning south facing views over the mountains and is ideal as a holiday retreat.

Whether you are here to view potential properties or are looking for outdoor activities such as bird watching, hiking, fishing, canoeing or riding, the spectacular scenery in the surrounding area offers it all.

Alternatively if you are here on holiday, why not just relax, chill out by the pool and listen to the birds singing contentedly in the background.

The property is close to all local amenities but benefits from being really quiet and peaceful.

Guests have full use of the house, gardens and swimming pool and are assured that they will be the only guests present during there stay.

The fully equipped modern kitchen includes oven and hob, microwave, washing machine, American style fridge freezer with ice maker, toaster, coffee maker and all the usual accessories needed for modern living.

Outside Areas

Casa Branca has three large terraces, one at the front of the property (partially covered with a dining table and six chairs) great for dining alfresco and taking in the views and two further terraces at the back of the property over looking the swimming pool and gardens.

There is also a very private south facing walled courtyard, again with table and chairs, exterior lighting and BBQ for those lazy evenings outside. All terraces have comfortable seating as does the fully fenced and gated pool area.

The pool has full width shallow Roman Steps, (ideal for children) a swimming area of 4 metres x 8 metres and a gentle slope that leads to a maximum depth of 2 metres. The pool also has lighting for night swimming.

The paved patio and lawn area have sun lounger´s, sun shade and a table with four chairs.

No smoking within the accommodation. Smoking is permitted in any of the outside areas.

Families and Children

For younger guests there is a children’s sand pit and play house, garden slide and swing. The house, gardens and pool are completely secure with child proof gates and are child friendly. Books, games toys and DVDS are also available for both children and adults alike.

Camping

Should you need extra room, we can erect an 8 man tent in the garden for you to rent. The tent is new and has two double bedrooms and a large living space. Sleeping bags and electric points can also be provided.

Should you wish to camp on a bed and breakfast basis utilising your own equipment this is also acceptable.
